Class Details

★ SYNOPSIS

In this presentation, children’s author-publisher Ariane Erickson will show attendees how to secure both professional and customer-based reviews that drive book sales and industry “cred.” She will discuss the key trade journals’ review services – both free and paid – the odds of securing free reviews, and whether it’s worth using their paid offerings.

She will also discuss strategies for generating Amazon reviews through ARC distribution services and free ebook promotions, and how to use positive reviews to increase sales and author bookings. Attendees will gain practical guidance for building credibility and sales in the wonderful world of children’s book publishing!

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Ariane Erickson has co-authored three picture books with her husband, Todd, and is the Editor- in-Chief of Norse-Gael Books. She honed her writing skills over many years as a longtime member of SCBWI and peer critique groups, and has learned how to indie publish children’s books by attending TOC and IBPA conferences, watching tons of Youtube videos, and spending hundreds of hours of “learning by doing.”

She considers herself only halfway up the steep indie publishing learning curve, but is delighted to share what she’s learned - so far - over the past three years in the trenches.
